This works well with several types of offensive cheese.Ĭonversely, ladder settlements are a pain in the ass to defend. This lets you avoid the clusterf*** of defenders at the top of one by jumping up another. In addition, many ladder settlements in PoP have several ladders. Building ladders takes next to no time, meaning that your enemy can't come swooping down on you while you are preparing. Ladder settlements are the bomb to attack. There are also a couple of settlements that are both (High Pass Keep requires you to build a Siege Tower but has a ladder for easy access). It is very important that you know/remember which of your cities are which because it will definitely determine the city. The two types I am talking about are Siege Towers and Ladders.

I find that medium on Pendor gives me a nice balance of challenge, but still the chance to be that clearly defined hero. I enjoy playing my games as a fantasy lord and in all the fantasy movies I watched, the central character is a one man wrecking ball. I just don't see the point, to be honest. Note, I do not play Pendor on Hardest difficulty. Then again, why are you trying to hold castles and towns if you aren't level 20 yet? To make this work optimally, you probably need to be around level 20. Please note that these are a bit more advanced. It took me quite a while to figure these tricks out, but now that I have, I rarely, if ever, lose a siege defense. These are some tips, tricks and outright, unshamed cheese that I have picked up through hours of playing PoP. Nothing sucks more than taking a town and then getting steam rolled by an enemy faction that brings 1,000+ men to the fight. As anyone who has fought sieges in PoP before knows, it can be a nightmare.
